the gaddafi post opera dedication is a meditation on 21st century visual archival culture, and explores a suggested symbiotic relationship between modern archival footage and the plethora of visual information that western societies have access to, and through this brings attention to a desensitized audience, untrained or unable to distinguish the reality of the action film and the fantasy of prime time news.
the dedication developed as a one time performance workshopped performance as part of the junior dephic games held for the first time on the african continent in december, 2011. musuem africa.
a second performance took place at the bioscope, main street life. jeppestown.

Bogosi,
It is great to hear from you and to be reminded of such heavy and touching issues as Gaddafi. Milan Kundera aptly quoted brings home the realities that confront us puts challenges for us to address. We are compromised and betrayed by a leadership devoid of a sense of history and ignorance of their own history; the sacrifices made, the deaths, detentions and banishments.
If they remember all this it is then even worse. What is to be done? ********
